Salt Lake City Airport ushered in a new era as it entered its 100th year in aviation with a brand new airport. While the new airport was up and running, the SLC airport design was far from finished, as it announced the construction of a new terminal. The development had a bright future, and with an already established relationship, Salt Lake City Airport retailers teamed up with Showbest to design and develop the looks of the new retail spaces to be installed in the new terminal.

Through our partnerships, we’ve been able to design visionary, creative, and gorgeous displays that draw people in with aesthetics and a unique focus on convenience in every industry, from health spas to food vendors to major retailer store designs.

When the Salt Lake City Airport built a new terminal, Showbest was given the opportunity to manufacture and install over 20 new retail spaces. Many of the projects were based on well-known, beloved local brands, so capturing elements from existing non-airport locations was imperative to the retailers and the brands they were partnering with to bring the projects to life.

The Design and Deliverables
As a fresh, modern airport, the SLC Airport retailers and their design teams wanted a specific aesthetic throughout the terminal that tied the retail spaces together, focusing on millwork and fixtures as one of the most integral parts of the design. Each design had to be presented and approved before moving forward with construction. 

Showbest worked with several teams to prepare for this massive undertaking, such as customers, architects, and local brand partners. Together with our engineering department, our goal was to ensure all parties were satisfied with the details of the planned manufacture, millwork, and fixtures.

The project began in 2019 and was built out in phases, with the last project set to wrap up this year. The entire project, from start to finish, was fast-paced, exciting, fun, and unique. Many of the storefronts involved a lot of woodwork, but one of the most amazing pieces was a laser-etched map of downtown Salt Lake City. Working with a team of twelve, we captured the vision. We delivered incredible results despite the challenges of finishing multiple projects within a tight timeline.
